KPD "Kranjčević" - Bački
Breg - Yugoslavia The young ensemble preserves old
traditions of the Sokatz people from Batchka region (Vojvodina). All the
costumes are home-made and the people use them at festive occasions of
the village up to the present. |
KUD "Ravnica" - Oštra
Luka Bok - Bosnia-Hercegovina The ensemble presents
the old folklore and customs of Croatians from Bosanska Posavina (northern
part of Bosnia). The major part of folk costumes used on the performances
is original, created from the first half of the century. |

Sesvete - Croatia The orchestra "Old
Tamburitzans" is playing the unmodified folk music of its village.
In the past all village streets had its own tamburitza band. Now they
are the only one. The sum of the age of the six musicians is 408 years. |
"Biseri Drave" - Starin -Hungary The
members of this tamburitza orchestra are young people from the village
near the Drava river called Starin. They continue the living tradition
of playing and dancing original songs and dances of the village. |
KUD "Tanac"
- Pécs - Hungary The host ensemble of the
festival. It celebrates 10th anniversary this year. The ensemble reached
the "excellent" qualification in the competition of folk dance
groups of Hungary (1996, 1998). The repertoire contains mainly Croatian
dances from Hungary. |
KUD "Kvadrilja"
- Trogir - Croatia At the time of marshal Marmonta
the dance "kvadrilj (quadrille)" was fashionable in the
majority of Dalmatian towns, but only the people of Trogir have preserved
it up to the present. From the French original only a name "balanse"
remained, the dance is quite new, called "trogirska četvorka".
It starts with "promenade", continues with first, second,
third and fourth "bal", and ends with furious polka. It
is presented with the accompaniment of mandolin orchestra. |
KUD "Vranovci-Bukovlje"
- Vranovci-Bukovlje - Croatia The preservation
of folk customs that more or less are coming to an end in Vranovci-Bukovlje
began in the 50's. In 1978 a new cultural-artistic association was
founded, which has been working up to the present. From the numerous
folk customs of the village the association has many examples in its
program and saves them from the oblivion in this way. |
