The village Šokci live on both sides of the Pécs–Mohács road. This ethnographic group received its name in order to distinguish them from the Drava-region, Danube-region, and Bačka Šokci, who also live in villages. The traditions of this group – including their dances – share many characteristics with the traditions of the surrounding Croatian settlements, therefore similar dances can also be found in Bosnian Croatian villages and in the town of Mohács. The most common dance form is the circle dance, while couple dances are less frequent, and there are also a few triple dances.
